Lifecycle roadmaps often become lists of campaigns. Executive prioritization begins with customer and business problems, not channels.
Find the Behavioral Breakpoints
Look for moments where customer behavior changes materially: onboarding drop-off, repeat-purchase decline, early cancellation, failed rebills, service friction, loyalty disengagement, or weak reactivation. Size the affected population and the economic consequence.
Separate Symptoms From Causes
A falling click rate may be a message problem. A falling retention rate may reflect product expectations, pricing, fulfillment, or customer fit. Use qualitative feedback and operational data before assuming CRM is the solution.
Score Opportunities Across Five Dimensions
Evaluate customer impact, business value, confidence in the diagnosis, implementation effort, and measurement readiness. High-value work with no credible measurement plan should be redesigned before it enters the sprint.
Prioritize Learning as Well as Revenue
Some tests deserve priority because they resolve an important uncertainty. A well-designed holdout or journey simplification may create less immediate revenue than an offer test but unlock better decisions across the entire program.
A strong lifecycle roadmap is a sequence of customer problems, hypotheses, and measurable decisions—not a calendar of messages.
